Let's see...
Hi 👋 I'm Seabass.
I'm a music-organizer (and software engineer) living in the Bay Area. Most of my time is spent working on Groupmuse, a cooperatively-run social network for live music in living rooms, backyards, and other intimate spaces. I built the Rails app that powers the community starting all the way back in 2013, kickstarted the Bay Area community, and now serve on the Steering Committee helping coordinate our efforts across dozens of US cities.
In the last few years, I've become quite involved in the wonderful world of Vocal Improv, the style of improvised singing and play largely inspired by the work of Bobby McFerrin. My teachers there have included Dave Worm, Rhiannon, and Zuza Gonçalves. I've also been lucky to support and help organize a wonderful community of vocal improvisers in the Bay Area we call The Downbeat.
I'm also founder and owner at JumpOffCampus, a housing service for college students which started as a class project in my junior year at Tufts University and is now partnered with dozens of colleges and universities around the country.
